Homeowners in Wrexham are being warned to be on their guard after complaints from the Johnstown area regarding a leaflet drop in the area.
Residents in the area were being offered work ranging from guttering, roofing, soffits, driveways, barge board replacement and fence panels.
However some of the homeowners in Johnstown who were targeted have complained of an aggressive and pushy approach where they felt under pressure to agree to work being done.
Advice from Trading Standards is to never to agree to work being done on your property as a result of cold calling. If you do need work doing contact known reputable traders for a written quote.
If you have recently agreed to have work done on your home and have any concerns at all please contact Trading Standards on 08545 040506.
If you have a caller at your door who is pushy or ignores requests to leave your property. Close the door on them and call the Police on 101.
