Wrexhamites were queuing from 8am this morning outside Aldi on Plas Coch to try to buy special steaks.

Aldi has had a national offer on today for some Wagyu beef steaks at a reduced price. Wagyu is known as a breed of cow due to its higher fat content making the meat more marbled and tasty.

This morning there were queues of people outside the door of the store, with steaks selling out within the first fifteen minutes of opening.

The sales were restricted to two steaks per person, and our estimate is that there were stock levels of about fifty steaks in total.

Aldi in their promo said: “Our fresh Wagyu Steaks are of the highest premium quality cuts, hailing from cows that are fed on a rich diet of grass in New Zealand.”

This morning carries on the fine Wrexham tradition of not only fine food tastes but eagle eyed bargain hunters!
