Last night Glyndwr University facilitated Wrexham’s only public hustings at the Racecourse – with a warning the video is rated 18+ at times!

Well over one hundred people packed into the Centenary Club to ask questions, listen to and heckle all seven candidates standing to become the next Member of Parliament for Wrexham.

Wrexham.com opted not to live tweet or update on a point by point basis as it is impossible to get the full flavour or content of replies, so we liaised with Wrexham TV to ensure that a video of the night would be available in full – viewable below.

ITV Wales reporter Rob Shelley was the ring master, with the unenviable job of providing balance while ushering the debate forward in a structured manner. The event itself was the idea of Broadcast Journalism student Georgia-May Quinn, and great credit and thanks has to be given to her for driving the concept to fruition on the night to provide Wrexham with its only public hustings of the election.

The video of the evening contains swearing, general narkiness, agreements, disagreements and general political content with a wide range of views so please be warned – it is well worth a watch, and gets tastier in the second half!

You can view our full election coverage at wrexham.com/elections/general-election-2015 and remember to ‘tune in’ on Thursday evening when we will be live from the election count itself!
