Two popular Town Centre businesses have been awarded customer service awards for excelling in providing a great welcome to visitors.

King Street Coffee, based in Wrexham Bus Station and Apollo Taxi’s on Charles Street, received the awards for going above and beyond with their customer service.

Each month, the board responsible for tourism development in the County Borough – Destination Wrexham – presents a visitor-facing business with an award to celebrate the quality which they offer for customers.

The award is based on a mixture of online feedback, an active involvement with local events and above all – going beyond the normal expectations to deliver an outstanding experience for their customers and those visiting town.

“The feedback that we’ve had about both companies has been first-class, therefore it’s important that we acknowledge this.”

Joe Bickerton, Destination Manager at Wrexham County Borough Council said that both ‘Apollo Taxi’s and King Street Coffee have brought a quality welcome to those visiting town in the last six months’.

He continued onto say: “Apollo have amazed us with the level of investment that they have put into the business – both through the refurbishment of their offices and commitment to a modern, safe & reliable service.

“Phil & Andy at King Street Coffee have only been trading since April – but have already shown a real passion for getting involved in wider town centre events and cross promoting positive news about Wrexham and not just their own products.”

Speaking about the two awards, Chair of the Wrexham Destination Partnership, Peter McGivern added: “It’s important that we recognise brilliant customer service, as businesses like Apollo and King Street Coffee are often the first point of contact for many of our visitors and create the first impression of the town in many cases.

Previously, the award has been presented to the Bank Wine Bar & Bistro on the High Street in Wrexham Town Centre.

A further three monthly awards are due to be presented between December and March – with the six winners competing for an overall prize at the annual Wrexham Tourism Awards in March.
