Two men have been arrested after reportedly committing a series of offences this afternoon, including taking a vehicle in Wrexham, crashing in Denbighshire and driving three times over the legal limit.

PC Thomas Hough took to Twitter this afternoon to thank colleagues in Flintshire and also the Cheshire and North Wales Alliance Armed Policing Unit, who assisted in the arrest of the duo.

The men are said to have taken a vehicle in Wrexham without the owners consent, before stealing petrol from Sainsbury’s and heading towards Denbighshire.

There the men are said to have to have crashed the car, before ending up in Flint where they were stopped by the North Flintshire policing team.

PC Hough said: “However they have decided to fight the officers, cause criminal damage to a police vehicle and had to be sprayed with captor. They also spat in the face of one officer and a Cheshire and North Wales Alliance Armed Policing Unit officer.”

Both men were arrested for the offences, with PC Hough adding that the driver of the car was also three times over the drink drive limit.
