A man has been airlifted to Stoke with serious injuries.

Two air ambulances were seen landing on the football pitch in Rhosymedre, just off Church Street just before 1:30pm this afternoon.

North Wales Police are assisting crews, however we are told the response is due to a medical emergency rather than any incident.

Teri sent us the above picture, saying: “Two air ambulances on the football pitch near rock road in Rhosymedr”.

The first air ambulance attended around 1:50pm, and the second arriving around 2:15pm.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon to reports a man had sustained an injury at an address in the Rhosymedre area of Wrexham.

“We sent an emergency ambulance and two Wales Air Ambulances to the scene, and a man was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.”
