Triple Black Belts For Bateman Family

Three members of the same family have gained their 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Nicolas, 11 and his brother Joseph, 12, started training at Wrexham Tae-Kwon-Do in 2009 and two months later mum Lynn decided to join them.

They are all members of Wrexham Tae Kwon-Do and train on a Monday at Rhosnesni Sports Centre and Thursday at Glyndwr University Sports Centre. Their Instructor Julie Price is a 6th Degree Black Belt with the Tae-Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain.

In April 2013 Joseph and Lynn travelled down to the TAGB Academy in Bristol to take their grading assessment in front of five 8th Degree Masters. The Grading consisted of theory and practical work, alone and against an opponent. Nicolas had already attended his achieved his Grading in October 2012.

All three are now 1st Degree Black Belts.

As well as helping at the Wrexham classes Lynn also assists with the teaching of children at the Overton Tae Kwon-Do school with Instructor Tracy Fry 3rd Degree
