A white transit van caught fire just off the Gresford roundabout late this afternoon.

Local residents said that the first started at around 4:20pm and that a fire engine attended the scene.

The van, which appeared to have been dumped contained piles of clothes, a tyre and various other objects.

When Wrexham.com drove past at 5:30, the van had been dampened down but was still smoldering . However after another trip down half an hour later, the smoldering had stopped.

We had contacted the police and fire service, but at the time they were unable to provide any further information.
