Town’s yellow lines get a new lick of paint

Wrexham Council have conducted a late night refresh of some yellow road markings in the town centre.

The now very visible markings indicate loading or unloading restrictions at any time. The restrictions are commercially targeted, as the public may stop while passengers board or alight a vehicle.

Wrexham Council told us: “The work recently undertaken in the town centre, in relation to the above-mentioned matter, is the re-marking of existing traffic regulation orders, which had faded overtime”.

Nearby businesses have recalled previous markings on one side of the road, but questioned if the markings had existed elsewhere, as the original paint had faded to almost fully disappear it was so long since the last refresh.

Some faded paint of both lines and waiting markings remain:

Some double yellow lines have also been repainted nearby as part of the overnight decoration.

The painting took place late on Tuesday night, a deliberate move to help avoid issues said the council.

The Council added: “The works were carried-out overnight as the roads on which the works were required are quieter at those times”.
