Wrexham Council, in association with Wales Rugby League (WRL) are launching junior touch rugby sessions from Wednesday 20th February, taking place from 5.30-6.30pm at Queensway Sports Stadium

Following the success of adult touch rugby in previous years, a decision has been taken to introduce sessions for juniors as the council reiterates its commitment to developing the sport ahead of this year’s Rugby League World Cup.

Touch rugby is a fun, non-contact version of the sport that is suitable for everyone.

The sport minimises the physical contact necessary to game play. The focus is on fun and by removing tackles and other contact elements of the sport, Touch Rugby is more about athleticism and exercise, encouraging players to be both agile and accurate in passing and catching.

The successful Adult Touch Rugby sessions will start once again in April.

Each session costs £2 but the first session in FREE on a touch rugby flyer, which are available from Queensway Sports Stadium and other Council leisure centres.

Sessions are suitable for children aged 8 and above. For more information please contact 01978 292088 or email [email protected]
