Put on your glad rags, call the babysitter and make a reservation at Essa de Calvi, the restaurant that forms the hub of Alan Ayckbourn’s brilliant, complex and hilarious Time of My Life, which opens at Grove Park Theatre on Thursday April 11.

As with all of the master’s plays, expect a menu peppered with unforgettable comic moments mixed with a bitter aftertaste of the darker torments of the human condition as three couples from the Stratton family get together for the dinner of a lifetime. As the action unfolds, we witness the couples’ past and future as all the stresses and strains of modern life are played out with the unmistakeably deft touch of England’s greatest contemporary playwright.

The play runs until Saturday April 20 and tickets can be booked by calling 01978 351091 or online.
