Three people arrested in connection with serious assault in town released on police bail

Three people arrested in connection with a serious assault in Wrexham town centre have been released on police bail.

Shortly after 1:30am on Sunday morning police were called to a report of a man having been found unconscious on College Street – prior to the steps leading up to St Giles’ Church.

The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital by Ambulance with serious injuries.

He has since been transferred to The Royal University Hospital in Stoke where he is described as having life-threatening injuries.

Three local males and a female were arrested in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed today that three people have since been released on police bail. A fourth person remains in custody.

Detective Inspector Eleri Thomas said: “I would ask that anybody who may have witnessed this disturbance and who may have information that is crucial to our investigation to contact the North Wales Police control room on 101 quoting incident number X111342.”
