North Wales Police have today executed three search warrants in the Wrexham area under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Addresses in Hightown, Acton and Caia Park were searched by officers as part of Operation Vermicelli. As a result, two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply and one man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

It is anticipated that further arrests will take place over the following days.

Officers recovered a quantity of controlled drugs, stolen property and cash. Enquiries are currently ongoing to identify the property recovered.

Insp Simon Kneale said: “North Wales Police recognises the significant impact that drugs have on the lives of users, their families and the surrounding communities. I’d like to reassure the community that we treat drug supply and associated offences very seriously.

“I want to thank local residents for their continued support and for the information they have provided, which enables us to apprehend those causing the most harm in our town.

“More warrants are planned and I hope that the action today sends a stern message to those involved in the use and supply of controlled drugs. The operation also demonstrated fantastic team work among officers including members of the Special Constabulary.

“I would encourage anybody who has information relating to crime in their area to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
