Thieves stole a potentially dangerous asbestos filter from a Wrexham garage on Wednesday.

A Hepa filter which collects particles of asbestos from the air was stolen from a garage in Bryn Hafod.

The filter has been confirmed as containing hazardous asbestos fibres and if tampered with will contaminate the local environment which includes any person in the close vicinity.

It has been described as being approximately 2ft by 3ft in size, yellow in colour and has the numbers 5042 clearly marked on the top.

Above is an example of what one of the filters looks like.

If the unit is seen people are requested to inform the police immediately on 101 and not to tamper or open it.

If individuals do come into close contact with the unit and it is opened they are advised to seek immediate medical help.
