The Entertainer is to celebrate the opening of its new Wrexham unit tomorrow with a Lego icon and trolley dash through the store.

Last month Wrexham.com reported that toyshop ‘The Entertainer’ would be relocating from its long standing unit on Henblas Street to a 2,600sq ft store in Eagles Meadow.

The retailer, who has seen profits soar in the last five years, is bucking the current trend across the retail industry and has plans to open further stores across the UK throughout 2015.

Lego Ninjago’s Kai will also make special appearances throughout the opening day.

The store will also celebrate its grand re-opening with a special trolley dash undertaken by children who benefit from the Dynamic charity. The Wrexham-based charity is a unique resource that provides out of school activities for children and young people with special needs. The children have a range of disabilities from physical, intellectual or sensory impairments, to life limiting illnesses.

Dynamic work in partnership with statutory agencies, the voluntary sector and the community. The aim is to provide a lively, safe and just environment in which children and young people with special needs, their carers, families and friends can benefit from an enhanced quality of life and the young people be empowered to help themselves. Dynamic currently supports over 100 youngsters by holding seven weekly after school groups, Club 1925 and a Saturday group, activities during the school holidays and a major Summer Programme.

Carol Gardner, Charity Manager, commented: “Dynamic is delighted that two of our children have been chosen to do the trolley dash on this important day for The Entertainer in Wrexham. The children are really excited and as a charity we are thrilled to be associated with the event”.

Gary Grant, Managing Director and Founder of The Entertainer, added: “After experiencing such solid growth across the UK we are pleased to announce the relocation of the Wrexham store. Wrexham and the centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more choice on the high street and within shopping centres.

“We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Wrexham and we have plans to increase our presence in UK and will announce further plans soon.”
