The Cambrian Vaults has had its licence revoked by the Licencing Sub Committee.

The public house was under review following the death of Craig Maddocks last month in the building.

Posters had been put in the windows of the Cambrian Vaults stating:  “North Wales Police have made an application for a summary review for the premises licence of the Cambrian Vaults under the licensing objectives of Crime and Disorder, in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003.”

Update 8:18am:

Inspector Mark Williams has told Wrexham.com this morning “NWP in partnership with the local authority always seek to work with licensees to achieve our licensing objectives.

“We meet regularly with premises who are experiencing problems and seek to achieve our objectives without the need for a full review.  In the case of the Cambrian Vault, we were unable to sufficiently influence the management of the premises to ensure the safety of the customers and general members of the public.”

“The closure of this pub is a last resort and a regrettable outcome, however it was necessary and proportionate in the circumstances. ”
