Council tenants in parts of Wrexham are being encouraged to compare their energy suppliers by using switching partner, Community Switch.

Wrexham Council has teamed up with Community Switch who will work with tenants in the LL11 area of Wrexham to help them compare their energy suppliers and switch to providers who offer better tariffs.

Lead Member for Housing, Cllr Ian Roberts, said: “Switching energy providers is an excellent way to save money on fuel bills, particularly as they have increased dramatically over the last few years.

“Tenants could be missing out on lower energy prices and better deals with different suppliers. Community Switch will give them unbiased and impartial advice to help them decide on a new supplier and make the switching process comparatively easy.”

Community Switch use Ofgem consumer code accredited comparisons and provides a service which anyone can use. It doesn’t matter if the meters are prepayment or standard energy meters.

Managing Director of Community Switch, Patrick Berry, said: “Switching your supplier is free and we can provide all the help people need over the phone and without any hassle. People who have never switched could save hundreds of pounds. All you need is a copy of your electricity and gas bill to hand if possible and they can start saving.”

Tenants can visit Community Switch’s website www.community-switch.co.uk , call them on 0300 303 0025, calls charged at local rate or text SWITCH to 60777 and Community Switch will call them back.
