Storm Henry Hits Wrexham – Power Cuts Over ‘Wide Area’
Storm Henry is battering Wrexham, with trees down, power cuts and wobbly vans on the roads in the area!
There are power cuts affecting a ‘wide area’, with SP Energy saying: “Monitoring systems on our network have alerted us to an unexpected fault affecting a number of customers over a wide area. We apologise for inconvenience caused, our emergency response teams have been notified and we expect your supply to be restored by 1pm”
John Phillips tweeted to say: “Tree down blocking coppress hill in penycae take care”
Beck said: “I know your bin picture is good but these are flying up and down my road”
A fallen tree on the line near Gobowen has also resulted in disruption for those travelling between Shrewsbury and Wrexham General – resulting in cancellations or delays of up to 40 minutes. These are expected to be in place until 4pm this afternoon.
The wind has been measured gusting in Rhostyllen at 69mph:

Earlier today local Conservative Candidate Andrew Atkinson tweeted us this picture of shop signage topping down in the winds, he told us ‘it could have killed someone’:
