Seven members of staff were made redundant yesterday after the JJB Sports store on Wrexham’s Regent Street closed its doors for the final time.

As we previously reported in recent months the branch had moved to clear stock by cutting prices and appeared to have become more of an outlet store.

Last year the company said it would be closing as many as 95 stores as part of a restructuring of the company.

Staff member Sadie Burton who has worked at the Regent Street store for three years said she would be sad to see the store go and sent in the above picture.

JJB joins a long list of empty shops on the street where we counted around ten empty stores in a recent picture report.

The subject of how to resolve the problem has been hotly debated in this thread on our forums.
