Spector To Play At Central Station
Spector have announced they will be playing at Central Station this October as part of their upcoming tour.
The Indie Rock band will be playing at the Wrexham venue on October 24 during their first UK tour of this year.
The tour comes hot on the heels of their upcoming Festival Republic stage headline appearance at this month’s Reading & Leeds Festival and will call at twenty-one UK cities, many of which the band have not played previously.
It also serves as an opportunity to test out new material that the now 4-piece (since the departure of guitarist Christopher Burman) are set to start recording with producer Dev Hynes (Solange, Sky Ferreira), due for release in 2014.
Named after the now infamous producer, London five-piece Spector describe their music as “particularly English power-pop, somewhere between Roxy Music and The Strokes, The Killers and Kanye West, Pulp, R&B and Frank Sinatra.” What initially began as a solo project by Fred MacPherson, the band have since expanded, recorded sessions for Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and signed to Fiction Records.
They went on to be tipped by Blur’s Alex James and nominated for the BBC Sound of 2012 poll and their smart angular pop saw critics swoon following last year’s release of their debut album ‘Enjoy It While It Lasts’ hit No. 12 n the UK charts. Superstardom now seems inevitable.
With support acts still to be announced, tickets to see the band will be on sale from Friday and are £10.
