Proposals to develop 12 new properties in Caia Park have been submitted.
In an application submitted to Wrexham Council, proposals to create new social housing on vacant land in Caia Park have been put forward. A total of 12 houses would be developed on the land if the application is granted the go ahead.
The proposed site just off the Whitegate Industrial Estate had previously been used as a car park, however was closed by Wrexham Council to facilitate the the proposed residential development.
Within the application’s Design and Access Statement is goes onto note that the plot of land ‘was identified by Wrexham Council for the provision of affordable housing in 2010.”
Of the 12 proposed properties, six would comprise of two bedrooms, while the remaining six would be one bedroom flats.
The application states that the design of the properties would consist of ‘red/brown facing brickwork’, to match the adjacent properties. Along with this the roofing would be grey slate with black plastic rainwater goods, to again match the buildings opposite.
A total of 18 parking spaces would be provided for the properties. This would be provided in accordance to ‘local guidance’, with the two bedroom dwellings being allocated two spaces each.
The Design and Access Statement goes onto comment on the ‘accessible location’ and the ‘good range of community facilities’ available in the area.
There is no date yet specified for when the planning application will be heard by Wrexham Council.
