Police made at total of seven arrests over the weekend as part of investigations into a spate of car arsons in the Caia Park area of Wrexham in recent weeks.

Four youths were arrested on Friday and another three over the weekend. Six of them have been released on police bail pending further inquiries and one has been released with no further action to be taken.

The arrests are not being linked to the car arson at the Orchards in the Whitegate /Hightown area of Wrexham on November 13. The investigation into that incident continues and a youth arrested in connection with that inquiry has been released on police bail.

The car arsons have prompted debate on our forums, and one thing that has shown up is there could be people out there with information, CCTV and the like that has not yet been passed to the police. We would urge anyone with information to call North Wales Police on 101.

Another car was set alight in Ponciau at 4:30am and was described as “suspicious”.
