Scorchio! 15C & Sun Tomorrow When You Go Out To Vote!

Lovely weather is due tomorrow with the hottest day of the week so far, with long held belief more people turn out to vote in nicer weather!

65% of people did not bother to vote five years ago – so with the sun due to be out according to the BBC forecast you could combine voting with a nice walk.

Yes but my vote does not matter?

As above wards last time around were decided by literally a couple of votes. In other cases the deciding margin was just in double figures, so you and your friends and family can have an impact on the outcome of the election.

I have heard nothing from the candidates so they do not deserve a vote!

What are those ‘ward’ place names?! I do not know what ward I am in!

For this election Wrexham is carved up into ‘wards’, some are pretty obvious where they are but others are utterly baffling to normal people, but you can click here to view an online map that will tell you which ward you are in.

Thats great and everything, but where on earth is the polling station?

Often they are community centres, schools or something like that. You can pop your postcode into this helpful website WhereDoIVote.co.uk and it will draw you a map with a route as well so there is no excuse!

I have never actually voted, so how do I actually cast a vote?

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm tomorrow, Thursday 4th May. The staff inside them are really helpful.

If you don’t have your poll card, you can go to the polling station and give them your name and address. You don’t need any other form of ID.

You’ll be given a ballot paper containing a list of the people you can vote for.  You take your ballot paper into a polling booth, and follow the dead simple instructions – basically putting a X in the box of the person you want to vote for.

You then pop it in the ballot box and it is all done.

When do the results come out? 

Polling stations close at 10pm and the votes will be counted at Glyndwr University tomorrow night. We will be giving updates via Wrexham.com live from the count, with the first results expected from 11:15pm and completed probably by 1:30pm

Ah gotcha Wrexham.com! I have already voted via postal vote / will send proxy / something else so this article is terrible.
