Savills, alongside Emanuel Oliver, say they have been appointed by ‘Meadow Estates Company’ as leasing agent at Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre.

The 400,000 sq ft (3,716 sq m) shopping centre is the town’s principal retail destination. Opened in 2008 the centre is anchored by Debenhams with other tenants including Marks and Spencer, Next, H&M and Odeon. The centre comprises retail and leisure space alongside a 1,014 space car park.

Several big names have vacated the shopping centre in recent months, with Topshop / Topman, Three, Dorothy Perkins / Burton, Greggs and Starbucks leaving in September.

Wallis – also from the Arcadia Group – Poundworld and Grainger Games also left earlier this year.

Savills UK retail and leisure agency team is more than 80-strong, operating from a network of offices in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds. The firm advises landlords and occupiers in shopping centre, high street, retail park and outlet centre locations across the UK, with instructions totalling circa 43.5 million sq ft.

Locally the company also manages Plas Coch Retail Park and three years ago secured a 15 year lease for the relocation of TK Maxx from Island Green to the site.

Stephen Henderson, retail director at Savills Leeds, comments: “We are delighted to have been appointed alongside Emanuel Oliver to complement the existing successful retail and leisure offering at Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre. ”
