A Johnstown resident had a sat nav, mobile phone and £20 in cash stolen after his car window was smashed in the early hours of this morning.

Alex Davies, 23, who lives on the High Street said it was the second time his car has been targeted in 12 months.

The incident took place at around 2am and other local residents are also believed to have had their vehicles broken into over the weekend.

The burglary has left Alex with a £120 bill for a new window as well as losing his £200 Tom Tom sat nav.

He said: “I heard my dog barking at round 2am this morning, so I went downstairs to let her out. She stopped when she went outside so I thought everything was ok, but it was around the time of the burglary.

“It’s the second time I’ve had my car broken into in 12 months and I’ve been quoted £120 to get the window fixed as it’s an old car.

“The police came down and they said that they’ve had similar incidents over the weekend.”

North Wales Police said they were aware of the incident and have appealed for anyone with information to call them on 101.
