RSPCA to host ”Big Walkies’ event for dog owners in Wrexham tomorrow!

Dog owners and animal lovers across Wrexham are being invited to take part in a ‘Big Walkies’ at a local country park this weekend.

RSPCA Wrexham District & Deeside Branch is hosting the free to attend event at Alyn Waters Park in Wrexham tomorrow (Sunday 22 July).

Volunteer and events officer Dylan Evans said: “We can’t wait for this fur-tastic event this Sunday and are really looking forward to meeting lots of dog owners and their canine companions.

“Our event is completely free and we welcome everyone, we’re just asking owners to keep your dog on a lead at all times during the walk and that the dogs are friendly with other dogs and people.

“It will be a fantastic chance to get some fresh air with some fellow dog owners and find out more about the RSPCA and our branch.”

Due to the recent hot weather, those planning on attending are advised to keep an eye on RSPCA Wrexham District & Deeside Branch’s Facebook page, as the event could be postponed/cancelled if temperatures are predicted to be too warm.

Dylan added: “Owners should only bring their dogs if they are confident that it won’t be too warm for them. There will be lots of shade and water provided for dogs to cool off in, but owners should make sure they bring lots of water for themselves and their dogs.”

Registration will open at 10.45am and the walk beginning at approximately 11am.
