A young swimmer from Wrexham has raised £800 for charity after taking part in a Tough Mudder fundraising event.

Rhys Price of Wrexham Swimming Club recently took part in the 12 mile Tough Mudder obstacle course which was designed by the British Special Forces.

The challenge was designed to test your all round strength, stamina and mental grit and is one of the toughest premier adventure challenges in the world.

Rhys, who is a student at Coleg Cambria, hopes to eventually join the Royal Marines and will need to have the strength and stamina to survive and make the most of introductory training.

Rhys raised £800 which was split equally between Nightingale House Hospice and Wrexham Swimming Club. Rhys presented his cheques to Chris Andrews, Area Fundraiser for Nightingale House and Marian Williams, Chair of Wrexham Swimming Club at Wrexham Waterworld last Wednesday.
