Robbery Outside Corbetts Bookmakers In Caia

Rumours circulated last night regarding ‘armed robberies’ in Wrexham, today police have given clarity to what occurred and are appealing for information.

North Wales Police in Wrexham are appealing for witnesses following a robbery outside Corbetts Bookmakers in Prince Charles Road in Caia Park Wrexham last night.

Detective Sergeant Eleri Thomas at Wrexham CID said “At about 9.00pm last night, Wednesday October 30th, a local man in his 20’s male attacked as the store was closing by three men who were brandishing what we believe to be knife type weapons.”

“The victim male sustained minor injuries. The offenders are described as wearing dark clothing and their faces were concealed. They made off from the scene in a blue Vauxhall Astra.”

DS Thomas is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the attack or the vehicle leaving the scene or has any information which may assist.

Last night rumors were circulating on and offline of sightings of armed police around Mold Road, helicopters, and several mentions of armed robberies however with no verifiable eyewitness accounts. We have checked with North Wales Police and the above incident is the only one recorded for yesterday evening.
