A new go karting centre in Rhosddu looks set to get the go ahead from Wrexham Council.

At a planning meeting in June the plans for the indoor racetrack on the Rhosddu Industrial Estate were put on hold pending a noise assessment.

However, now a report has been carried out and concluded that the breakout noise levels from the building when running the proposed go-karts will not be audible at the nearest noise sensitive properties.

Wrexham Council’s head of community well-being and development Lawrence Isted said: “I am satisfied that the use of the building by a limited number of customers on a booking basis will not result in a detrimental amount of additional traffic to the site.”

It is envisaged that 8 go karts will run on the track at any one time with bookings taken for half hour periods with a 15 minute change over.

According to the planning document no person under the age of 16 will be permitted at the centre unless accompanied by an adult.

GTX Karting is behind the project which also includes provisions for 40 parking spaces.

Wrexham Council’s planning committee will decide whether to grant the application on Monday.
