North Wales Police are urging that residents stay vigilant following an increase in attempted bike thefts.

Over a several nights last week a number of sheds and garages were targeted, with thieves believed to be looking for push bikes and motorbikes.

Sergeant Darren Whibberley said there had been a ‘spike’ in similar incidents over the past week, adding that ‘extra resources into Caia Park and are targeting the problem’.

It is believed that those checking the garages are using bolt croppers while targeting sheds and garages.

Sgt Whibberley said: “It is anticipated they are on foot and the incidents are taking place late in the evening. We would ask if anyone sees or hears anything, then to get in touch.

“We would urge residents to help with the matter and get the persons caught.”
