The Wynnstay Hotel which closed down yesterday

An official date has been set for the reopening of the historic Wynnstay Arms Hotel in Wrexham.

In July last year we were the first to break the news of the hotel’s closure as Stephanie Booth’s businesses fell into administration.

Now the 300 year old hotel is set to be given new life under the ownership of Marston’s brewery as it reopens on Thursday.

Around 30 jobs are expected to be created, the same amount which were lost when the hotel was closed down.

A recruitment sign hung on the balcony of the Wynnstay.

Initially Marston’s had only planned to open the bar and dining area of the hotel, but has since decided to bring 27 of the hotel rooms back into use for guests.

An official opening for selected guests will be held at 5pm on Thursday before it is opened to the general public at 7.30pm.
