Red Arrows Route Maps Over Wrexham + Take Off & Landing In Hawarden
The route maps of the Red Arrows in the area tomorrow have been released, with forecasts saying no rain is due!
There will be opportunities to see the full display up in Rhyl at the air show, or for those who like us prefer the ‘raw’ experience you can head towards the periphery of Hawarden airport and see them take off and land. For those who have not been, the landings are usually a synchronised affair with loops around the airport, sometimes with smoke, before coming in one after the other.
Take off is equally impressive as they line up in threes, again often with a smoke test, and then do a synchronised departure – we have taken a video of this that you can view below!
For those looking to attend Hawarden we would advise getting their early as often the roads to the north and south of the runway are rammed, and there is no access to the airport itself for the public. Keep an eye on our twitter and website for updates, as usually there are no changes but last time they were in the area there was a cancellation.
The Reds will depart from RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire at 1:55pm on Sunday, before arriving at Hawarden airport for 2:18pm, coming in over the Wrexham area from the east.
The below times on the map are GMT, and we are in BST which is GMT+1 thus the differences.
Current flight and departure times also shows that the formation flyers will be departing from Hawarden airport at 4:50pm for the Rhyl Airshow. During their journey the red Arrows will pass over the north east of Wrexham at 4:52, the south east of Wrexham at 4:53pm and the west of Llangollen at 4:56pm and due over Rhyl at 5pm.
The Red Arrows will then remain at Hawarden aiport until 7:40pm when they are due for departure back to their home base of RAF Scampton.
