“Rain has helped” says Fire Service as 4 appliances remain tackling mountain fires
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have issued an update this evening about the fires around Llangollen / Horseshoe Pass area.
They said: “We still have 4 appliances in attendance and will continue to monitor overnight.
Today has seen temperatures down to 15C in parts, with varying amounts of rain hitting the area.
They added that the ‘rain today has helped’ with their efforts tackling the fire.
The Horse Shoe Pass new road remains closed.
The Fire Service added:Thanks everyone for your cooperation and support.”
Can see why they evacuated the Ponderosa Cafe and closed the Horseshoe Pass. Still smouldering after all the rain we’ve had today. @wrexham @DenbighshireCC #Llangollen #HorseshoePass pic.twitter.com/WuXp9LwmOC
