Pyjamas campaign to “deliver a little magic” to children in need this Christmas
An initiative looking to “deliver a little magic” to children in need this Christmas has launched in Wrexham.
‘Pyjama Party Wrexham’ follows a similar operation in Liverpool, which sees volunteers collect donations of new pyjamas to distribute on Christmas Eve to children and young people.
The local scheme has been set-up by Keeley Jones, her dad David Jones and his partner Julie Jones, who hope to bring an act of kindness with new Christmas Eve pyjamas to children across the area who are homeless or in need.
Despite launching at the end of October, Pyjama Party Wrexham has already secured a number of donation points across the Wrexham, Chester and Mold areas.
Speaking to Wrexham.com, Keeley said: “There is a Pyjama Party Liverpool which has been running for a year which my dad noticed, so we thought we would like to do one in Wrexham and surrounding areas.
“We have contacted the Liverpool one who are more than happy for us to do this and would like to get one in every town and city eventually.
“We have lots of collections points now including Pace Telecom, Ty Pawb, Co Op Marford, Borras and Johnstown.
“We are still on the hunt for drop off points, hopefully we can get some local schools on board.”
The donations will then be distributed to services working with children and young people who are homeless or in need this Christmas.
