Public Asked to Choose Title For ‘Bespoke’ Film Highlighting Dangers of Arson in Wrexham
The public are being asked to name a film which is being created to raise awareness of the dangers of deliberate fires in Wrexham.
North Wales Fire and Service have joined up with North Wales Police to create a film aimed at 10-16 year olds to raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of the impact of deliberate fires in the Wrexham area.
Wrexham has seen a series of arson attacks in recent years, with a number of cars, motorbikes, debris and foliage being set alight deliberately.
Details released earlier this year during a council consultation on how to tackle Wrexham’s ‘arson problem’ stated: “Arson has been a recurring problem in Wrexham for a number of years. There is a significantly higher level of deliberate fires in the county compared to the rest of North Wales over the past five years.
“43% of all arson in the North Wales area occurred in Wrexham; increasing to 47% in 2015.”
There isn’t long left to enter the competition which closes on August 31st! If you come up with the winning title you will be invited to a local screening of the production – and we will also reward you with £20 worth of cinema vouchers and a VIP guided tour of the new Ambulance and Fire Resources Centre in Wrexham.
You can leave your title suggestions / find out more information on the competition on the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service Facebook Page.
