Proposals Submitted For 35 New Houses
35 new houses could be built on land in Cefn Mawr is a planning application is given the go ahead.
If the application is approved, the proposed development would be erected on vacant land adjacent to the British Legion on Ffordd Kayton. Within the applications Design and Access Statement it notes that the site is ‘predominantly overgrown’.
In total 14 houses would consist of two bedrooms, while the remaining 21 houses would have three bedrooms.
Parking spaces would also be provided for the houses, with the two bedroom houses having two parking spaces per property. The three and four bedroom houses would be allocated with three parking spaces per house.
The exterior of the properties would be in-keeping to those that already surround the site. This include ‘brick walling’ materials, plain roof tiles and a mix of porch designs.
It is stated that the: “Design of the proposed buildings reflects the scale and character of properties in the vicinity, with a modern ‘cottage style’ appearance.”
Since 2005, two other planning applications have been submitted for the site. These include an outline application for residential development and construction of vehicular and pedestrian access in 2005, which was ‘undetermined’.
A second application for the erection of a residential development and alteration of existing pedestrian and vehicular access was also undetermined in 2007.
The application is due to go before Wrexham Council’s Planning Committee at a later date.
