Primary schools pupils quiz local politicians
A group of primary school pupils recently had the chance to quiz their local MP.
Students from Ysgol y Waun’s School Council were given the chance take part in a Q&A with their local MP, Susan Elan Jones, during her visit to the Chirk school with Wrexham County Councillor and Chair of Governors, Frank Hemmings.
The Clwyd South MP chatted with students about their work as a School Council and the latest school news. This was followed by a question and answer session about life as an MP.
The visit was rounded off with a tour by Year 6 students around the Lloyd’s Lane site and a tour of the Chapel Lane site.
Susan Elan Jones MP said: “It’s been a very enjoyable and interesting visit.
“I am especially pleased to hear the pupils talk with so much enthusiasm about their school and its achievements.
“I would like to thank the Head Teacher, Mr Roberts and the Chair of Governors, Councillor Frank Hemmings for arranging the visit”.
