A new food outlet is set to open its doors in Wrexham this week – with the Poundbakery arriving in town.

The popular brand is to open its first Wrexham store tomorrow (Friday 20th February) with the Poundbakery replacing Sayers on Queens Street.

The Poundbakery is best known for its range of fresh, tasty baked treats at just £1 and has taken the country by storm since the first branch opened in 2010 – with customers queuing around the block to get their hands on the bakery’s fresh buns, baked goods and cream cakes.

Work converting the property in the new Poundbakery has been underway for the past couple of days, with new signage and a new interior being fitted this week.

The new Wrexham bakery is one of several new stores to open up and down the country over the past few months. A number of new jobs will also be created, with Poundbakery advertising manager and supervisor positions on their website.

Poundbakery Area Manager Sarah Simpson comments “We make our customers’ cash go further at lunchtime with nothing costing more than £1. We’re right around the corner from Yale college, so we can’t wait to see the look on the students faces when they see they can snap up two pasties for £1.

“Everything is baked fresh that day and our taste and value for money can’t be beaten. We look forward to welcoming the people of Wrexham to come and stock up on our Easter goodies, including our award winning hot cross buns – eight for £1.”
