Over the past few weeks there has been an increase in the number of potholes in the area after the recent bad weather, with lots of people getting in touch complaining about the state of some of Wrexham’s roads.

On Friday Josh Jones tweeted Wrexham.com the images featured in this article of the potholes on the A525 Whitchurch to Wrexham Road.

Other new yet infamous potholes to appear in Wrexham since the bad weather include Gresford Roundabout, Tesco Roundabout and the junction between Llay New Road and Plas Acton Road.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We are aware that the problem of potholes is widespread on all classifications of road across the county network.

“Potholes are more prone to form in winter conditions and we can confirm that the freeze thaw cycle has led to more grit-salt being spread already in the two months before Christmas this winter than over the whole of each of the preceding two Winters, and this has led to an associated increase in pothole defects.

“We are making every effort to repair any actionable defects in response to routine highway safety inspections as well as complaints received from the public via our Contact Centre.”
