Ponderosa Cafe on Horseshoe Pass evacuated
The Ponderosa Cafe on Horseshoe Pass has been evacuated late this evening.
Simon Clemence from the Ponderosa posted the above image of condition and announced this evening the cafe ‘has been evacuated due to fire and smoke’.
The team at the Ponderosa have been helping emergency services throughout the ongoing fire incident in the area, and have remained open until now.
Simon added: “Can I please just take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful emergency services who are currently battling this menace.”
In their latest update this evening the North Wales Fire & Rescue Service have said they still have 9 appliances still in attendance.
Re-iterating an earlier appeal to apparently cut down on the number of duplicate calls to the service they added: “Smoke still drifting far afield – if you see/smell smoke it could be from Llantysilio fire unless you see source of fire /flames.”
Both the old & new Horseshoe Pass roads now closed so avoid area.
With added wind through today the smoke appears to have travelled further, with many more in the Wrexham area seeing and smelling smoke:
