Local politicians have visited Wrexham Delivery Office to see first-hand the operation of delivering Christmas post and to pass on early season’s greetings to its dedicated, hardworking staff.

Wrexham’s Assembly Member, Lesley Griffiths and Ian Lucas MP recently toured the facility and met the postmen and women who are pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail across the town in the build up to the busy Christmas period.

The festive season is the Royal Mail’s busiest time, as millions of people shop online for gifts as well as sending Christmas cards and parcels.

Lesley Griffiths AM said: “There’s no doubt this is the busiest time of the year for our postmen and women and the team in Wrexham are all working tirelessly to ensure Christmas cards and parcels are delivered on time.

“It was good to meet everyone and to thank them for delivering our mail throughout the year, in all weather.”

Ian Lucas MP added: “It was a pleasure to visit Wrexham’s delivery office to see first-hand the amazing work of our postmen and women. The festive period presents huge challenges but they provide a first-class service.

“I was grateful for the invite and enjoyed meeting the team in Wrexham.”

The last recommend posting dates for Christmas are:

First Class – Thursday 20 December 2018
Special Delivery – Saturday 22 December 2018
