North Wales Police are urging football fans attending the Wrexham versus Tranmere Rovers match at the Racecourse ground on Saturday ‘to behave responsibly’.

Temporary Chief Supt Alex Goss said :We want the fans to have a good time and to enjoy the match in friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

“North Wales Police has a responsibility to safeguard the right of fans to attend and to safeguard the rights of individuals to go about their business.

“Public safety and maintaining order is our priority. I would ask that those attending the match to conduct themselves in a responsible manner and to allow others in the area to go about their daily business.

“Anyone who seeks to exploit this football match by behaving in a criminal, racist or anti -social way will be dealt with appropriately. Fans who are drunk, in possession of marine distress flares or otherwise disorderly will not be allowed into the ground.”

Fans are reminded to allow plenty of time to arrive for the 12.15pm kick off.

Away fans must have tickets in advance of the game.
