A North Wales police officer tweeted from the beat as an uninsured car was taken off the road in Wrexham this morning.

PC Mark Jones (@NWPMarkJones) from the Roads Policing Unit is one of many officers from North Wales Police who have taken to tweeting to give the public an insight into their job.

He tweeted this morning to say “In Wrexham waiting for recovery for a vehicle that has been seized for no insurance. No insurance? Goodbye car!”

PC Jones said that police are currently working with the Motor Insurers Bureau to get as many uninsured cars off the roads as possible.

He later posted the above picture of the car being towed away along with the message: “No insurance means no car! Don’t take the risk, insure your car or face the consequences!”

He also assisted with a broken down car on the A483 southbound between Chester and Rossett.

North Wales Police have been increasingly taking to Twitter to keep members of the public up to date with real time incidents, as we reported last month a North Wales Police Control Room account was set up allowing incident managers and supervisors to provide updates 24/7.
