Man Arrested As Police Car Set Alight In Caia (Updated)

The fire service have said they were called to Glan Gors / Minafon area of Caia just after 4am after a police car was deliberately set alight.

The above picture was taken around 4:45am after the fire was extinguished. The eyewitness who took the picture said “I woke up to the noise and looked out my window, there was a fire engine and two police cars and the fireman were hosing down one police car”.

The fire service have said they believe the fire was started deliberately.

North Wales Police have said “Police were called to an incident at an address in Minafon Wrexham in the early hours today. While conducting enquiries at the address a police vehicle parked outside was set alight sometime after 4am .”

“North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire. A man was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody at Wrexham police station.”

UPDATE 16:40 : Police have updated saying the man arrested for arson this morning has been bailed pending further enquiries.
