Police Car Crash Blocks Town Centre Road

A two vehicle collision involving a marked police car blocked off the opening to Island Green this afternoon.

The incident took place at 2:20pm and involved a Ford Focus police vehicle and a grey Fiat Punto. One eyewitness told us “The police car lights were flashing and a car turned out and the police car as gone in the side of the other car”.

We have been told that call to the emergency services came from the officers involved in the accident.

An ambulance attended the scene to treat minor injuries. It is unclear who sustained the injuries.

North Wales Police have told us that an investigation will have to take place as a police vehicle was involved in the accident.

When Wrexham.com popped over to the scene, the police vehicle was being taken away by a low loader. Traffic on Town Hill and Regent Street had increased due to the diversion.
