Bomb disposal robot deployed as Wrexham’s B&Q store evacuated after ‘bomb threat’ for people living in or visiting the wrexham area

Final Update 7:51 PM: North Wales Police have issued a short statement, “Police officers working with the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit were examining a suspicious package which was found in the B&Q store in Wrexham. Confirmed that no danger to public and all roads now reopened. Thank you for your patience.”

Update: Berse Road has reopened and the staff are returning to the B&Q store.

Update: It appears the incident is coming to a close, as police are reopening roads.

Update: A bomb disposal officer has entered the store, wearing full protective kit. They left the store after spending some time inside.

Update: Police have said “Please be aware. Berse Road and the main Mold Road roundabout in Wrexham are closed past B&Q whilst we deal with an incident at the store. Please avoid the area until we update further. If visiting Wrexham Maelor hospital, please use the Ruthin Road side access.”

Update: The bomb disposal team’s robot is being sent into the store.

Wrexham’s B&Q store has been evacuated this evening.

Police are currently in attendance at an incident, with staff congregated on Berse Road.

One eyewitness has said the store has been evacuated due to an incident inside the store.

Several people either in store, or connected to people in the store, have reported the incident revolves around a ‘bomb’ threat.

One eyewitness said a tannoy announcement was made to “evacuate the store immediately”.

Police then moved the evacuated people further back and cleared the car park.

Berse road is now closed off.
