Police are urging anyone with information about a car arson in Wrexham to come forward.

Police have been carrying out house to house enquiries and forensic tests on a Peugeot car set alight in Lorne Street, Rhosddu overnight.

Meanwhile investigations are underway into a number of car arson incidents in Caia Park in recent weeks.

Last week we reported on the most recent arson incident in Caia Park, which took place in the Tan Y Bryn area last Wednesday evening. The vehicle was found with 100% damage to the engine.

Inspector Paul Wycherley said: “Again we would appeal for information. We have been working with the community and the arson reduction team to tackle the issue. CCTV cameras will be installed in areas identified as vulnerable to this type of incident and police patrols will continue.

“The arson reduction team will speak to officers before they go out on regular patrol and will also be attending schools alerting youngsters to the dangers and consequences of car arson. The community is arranging clean up sessions so that the mess left behind doesn’t blight the environment.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
