Police Appeal After University Student Robbed

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after a student was robbed in the early hours of the morning.

The incident took place at about 1:15am on Chapel Street.

Detective Inspector Neil Harrison of Wrexham CID said “At about 1.15am this morning, a student was making his way home along Chapel Street when he was threatened and had property taken from him by two males, one brandishing what we believe to be knife type weapon. The victim sustained no injuries, but was left traumatised.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the attack or anything suspicious in the area at the time, or has any information which may assist.”

A Glyndwr University spokesperson said: “Glyndwr University takes the safety of its students very seriously. We are assisting North Wales Police with its investigation and have mechanisms in place to support students and staff with any health or safety issues.”
