Update: The police received a call at 8:10 last night regarding a vehicle that had failed to stop.

Police followed the vehicle to the Gwersyllt / Pendine area in an attempt to stop it.

The search was stopped due to a disproportionate risk to the public. The vehicle was recovered.

Original story:

A number of people have been in touch informing us of police activity in the Gwersyllt / Pendine area overnight.

Just before 9pm we received a number of reports & tweets from people who had spotted the police helicopter hovering over Gwersyllt, particularly over Pendine Stores and Mold Road.

One resident told us that The Meadows was closed off just before 9pm, with three police cars on the road. A further two cars were seen on the Mold Road. It is believed that only residents of The Meadows were being allowed through.

We were also told that Police and sniffer dogs were seen in the area searching fields and gardens nearby.
