Plas Madoc Leisure Centre have issued a call for help to put on a Fanzone for Wednesday evening, when Wales take on Portugal.

Organisers asked last night, “We’ve got the Venue if you’ve got the passion?” which resulted in a resounding yes – and now they are turning their focus to getting an event organised inside the next 48 hours.

Confirmation of the event taking place is yet to take place, but the plan is large projected screen in the hall with standing and seated areas, with food available.

The main plea is for anyone with a large capacity projector or something similar suitable to use as the main screen to come forward and to get in touch.

Organisers added, “If there are any local businesses who want to donate or support us we would be immensely grateful and happy to let them put up banners etc in the hall on the night.”

Wrexham Council will not allow a fast tracked temporary licence so the event will likely be ‘bring your own’ with acceptable guidelines to be issued if the Fanzone does take place.

Anyone who can help this community effort please contact the centre on 01978 821600 and ask for Simon Richards (Operations Manager).
